Mitchell & Ness was founded in 1904 by tennis and wrestling champion Frank P. Mitchell, and Scottish golfer Charles M. Ness, in Philadelphia, PA., where they specialized in manufacturing tennis racquets, golf clubs, and other sports equipment. In 1925, Mitchell and Ness begin designing and manufacturing uniforms for high school, college and semi-pro sports teams in and around the Philadelphia area. In 1933, they become the official outfitter of their first professional team: The Philadelphia Eagles. Fast forward almost 70 years to 1998-2000 and the company's decades of success, attention to detail and quality earn Mitchell & Ness the licensing rights to make new NBA, NFL and NHL throwback, vintage jerseys, t-shirts, and apparel that become popular with movie, and music entertainers and athletes alike.
